In
yet another hit-and-run tragedy, an 11-year-old primary school student
in Xi'an, China, was killed when an 18-year-old Audi driver rammed his
car into the girl on June 5.
Zhu Qian's body was flung a distance of more than 10 metres and then dragged a further 26.5 metres.
Chinese police later arrested the young Audi driver, known only
as Zhu, in his home after tracking down the car's registration number.
Witnesses said that the girl was using the pedestrian crossing
when Zhu's car ran the red light and hit her. He also stopped for two
seconds before speeding away.
In these pictures taken by a passer-by, the girl's relatives can
be seen mourning over her lifeless body as onlookers watched helplessly.
According to witnesses, the girl's father was sobbing
uncontrollably while slapping himself on the face and apologising to his
daughter for not being there earlier.
