President Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete has appointed Dr Natu El-Maamry Mwamba the new Deputy Governor of the Bank of Tanzania effective this week.
A State House statement released yesterday by State Chief Secretary Philemon Luhanjo said Dr Mwamba takes over from Dr Enos Bukuku, who was appointed Deputy Secretary General of the East African Community (EAC) in April this year.
His term in office commenced on Monday June 13, according to the State House briefing.
Before his appointment, the BoT economist served as a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Economics at the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM).
