Mark Zuckerberg in Vietnam over Christmas

The Facebook founder and girlfriend visited Hanoi, Halong Bay and Sa Pa on their Christmas holiday to Asia.

Mark Zuckerberg, owner and founder of the world's largest social networking service and website Facebook, landed in Vietnam on Thursday from Bangkok.

His girlfriend Priscilla Chan confirmed on her Facebook account that Mark arrived at Noi Bai Airport on Thursday.

Facebook Vietnam director Huynh Kim Tuoc said Zuckerberg has been on a private visit to Hanoi to enjoy his holiday on Christmas occasion. The visit is definitely not for business.

He stayed in a five-star Sofitel Metropole hotel in Hanoi.

Zuckerberg and girlfriend were spotted visiting the Hoa Lo Prison Museum, also known as the Hanoi Hilton prison where American prisoners of war were held during the Vietnam War.

He was also spotted touring Hoan Kiem Lake.

The couple visited a shop selling luxury Vertu mobile phone in Hanoi but his bodyguards prevented any access from fans. No photography was allowed.

Zuckerberg was granted a two-week entry visa into Vietnam from December 16.
