Beauty in ugliness: Underwater World's new hagfish exhibit
A FACE only a mother could love? With its degenerate eyes, facial tentacles and eel-like body, the hagfish is not the typical colourful and cute marine creature we are accustomed to seeing at aquariums. But the hagfish - which is on display at Underwater World Singapore (UWS) from Nov 15, 2011 to Jan 2, 2012 - is one amazing creature. Besides having changed little for over 300 million years, it boasts a slimy defense mechanism and devours its food from the inside out.
